The Chicago Bears could find a bargain solution at quarterback in Jimmy Garoppolo.

But first, the San Francisco 49ers need an upgrade themselves. This really is a unique situation, because Garoppolo is not a bad quarterback by any means. In fact, he’s still only 29 years old and comes with recent Super Bowl experience.

The 49ers have been connected to Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan in some rumors, due to the relationship between him and Kyle Shanahan, his former offensive coordinator. If the 49ers go out and get a veteran like Ryan, that means they’ll need to find a new home for Garoppolo.

The Bears are reportedly going to try and make a splash move at quarterback this offseason, at least according to FOX Sports insider Jay Glazer. With so many different quarterbacks looking like they could be on the move, similar to last offseason, the Bears have options. This time, though, many of those names will be landed via trade instead of free agency.

Deshaun Watson is the biggest, shiniest name available via trade right now. But, Matthew Stafford is another one who will get dealt. Other potential trade candidates include Ryan, Garoppolo and maybe even Derek Carr.

So, if the Bears want to make a big, expensive move, then maybe one of those first few guys would be the right call. But, they could opt for a bit more reasonable price tag like Garoppolo. If the 49ers are going to find a new signal-caller, other teams will know that Garoppolo will eventually be moved.

How does that impact his value in a trade? More than likely, it means they won’t get as much as they might like. If the Bears wanted to try and make a trade for Garoppolo, the following deals might make sense.
