Chicago Bears draft outlook: 2019, Denver selects Noah Fant

Noah Fant had a breakout season for the Broncos in 2020 despite dealing with injuries and changes at quarterback. The 6-4 tight end upped his reception total from 40 to 62 in his sophomore season where he also finished with 673 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

He has now posted three touchdowns in each of his first two seasons. The best game of 2020 for Fant was against Buffalo in Week 15 when he erupted for eight receptions on 11 targets for 68 yards and a trip to the end zone. Fant is proving to be one of the more consistent tight ends in the league when healthy and who knows what Denver’s quarterback situation will look like next year.

Other notable picks in 2019 were Green Bay’s selections of Darnell Savage (FS) at Pick 21 and Elgton Jenkins (G) at Pick 44. The Raiders selected Josh Jacobs (RB) at Pick 24 and Washington picked Montez Sweat (DE) at Pick 26. This was the Ole Miss wide receiver draft where Tennessee selected A.J. Brown at Pick 51 and D.K. Metcalf somehow fell 13 more spots to Seattle at Pick 64.

Chicago’s front office landed one of the best values in the third round with the selection of David Montgomery 73rd overall. Bears fans finally saw his talents mixed with an improved offseason line in 2020.
