Right now all eyes are on the quarterback position. This makes sense as the Chicago Bears seem to be connected to every quarterback rumor floating around out there — as they should be. However, maybe we need to look at another position that is somewhat in flux. What about an Allen Robinson extension?

With the drama that ensued this season between the Bears and Allen Robinson, most believe that Robinson will be gone in 2021. The team could franchise tag him, but will he actually play or hold out? Another option is the team tags him and trades him. Should Ryan Pace just let Robinson walk, he should be instantly fired.

The Chicago Bears created a hype video that aired on social media yesterday. Could the video be a hint that the team plans on retaining Robinson’s services?

It should be noted that neither Mitch Trubisky nor Nick Foles is in this video. Obviously, Mitch Trubisky is a free agent this offseason, but so is another face in the video — Allen Robinson. Was this an oversight or is it a precursor for what is likely to happen this offseason? Every other player in this video outside of Allen Robinson is locked in to be a part of the team in 2021. So, why include Robinson?

Replacing Allen Robinson’s production would be difficult for the Chicago Bears

Maybe this is all just a coincidence and literally means nothing. However, it is just another thing fans can hang onto as hope. Allen Robinson is the most consistent player on the Chicago Bears offense. He has had some hiccups sure, but to not want him here would be a mistake. Should the Bears lose Robinson, the team will need to replace him. However, the options will be very limited in doing so.

Names in free agency include Kenny Golladay, A.J. Green, Corey Davis, Chris Godwin and more. However, the only few guys who can sniff Robinson’s jockstrap in regards to talent are also likely to be franchise tagged. This means the Chicago Bears will see a drop off at the wide receiver position. Instead of taking a drop off at the position, the team should literally just keep him.

Maybe by including him in this video it means Ryan Pace plans on keeping Robinson in 2021. Maybe it’s just a coincidence. Either way, it’s at least fun to try and read between the lines and hope that the team is about to do something right for once.
