Chicago Bears should offer one of these trades for Orlando Brown
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bears need help up front, and Pro Bowl offensive tackle Orlando Brown could become available.
News broke Tuesday morning that the Baltimore Ravens may end up dealing their stud right tackle. He has permission to seek a trade, and there are reportedly multiple teams interested.
A Pro Bowl tackle the last two seasons, Brown has been a stud for Baltimore on the right side. But, the team is also building their line around Ronnie Stanley, their equally impressive left tackle. If Baltimore chooses to trade Brown before he enters the final year of his rookie contract, the Bears would be a perfect suitor.
Over his first three seasons and in 42 starts, Brown has only committed four holding penalties and five false starts. That is astounding. This guy essentially will only commit a penalty once nearly every five games.
Brown is only 24 years old and is a former third-rounder out of Oklahoma back in 2018. He’s expressed his desire to play left tackle in the past, but Baltimore has stuck with Stanley; they even paid him big money last year to keep him around for the next five seasons.
Now, the Ravens may choose to move on from Brown.
This is the kind of anchor the Bears need upfront. This is the type of move you make if you’re Ryan Pace — before the quarterback position is addressed. Trading for Brown, followed by figuring out an extension; that’s the ticket.
These could be some potential trade packages the Bears offer in exchange for Brown.
