Chicago Bears free agent offensive tackle targets: Cam Robinson

Back in the 2017 NFL Draft, Cam Robinson was one of the more highly-touted offensive line prospects. He was and still is, a physical freak. Robinson is a heck of an athlete. But, he has yet to live up to his draft billing as a high second-round pick out of Alabama.

It has been a less-than-ideal first four years in the league for Robinson. In his second year, Robinson missed almost the entire campaign due to injury. Other than that season, health has not been an issue, which is a positive.

Twice in four years, though, Robinson has ended with 10 penalties surrendered. That’s an issue.

The problem has never been capabilities with Robinson, but more mental mistakes. He has the physical tools to become a stout offensive tackle, but the technique just hasn’t been there. Maybe with a fresh perspective from his coaches, in a new city, could do him some good.

Robinson is still only 25 years old and, at the very least, would give the Bears some strong depth upfront. He’d be a cheaper option than Massie or Leno and still offers some upside.
