Chicago Bears free-agent wide receiver target: Chris Godwin

Chris Godwin is a wide receiver that can play anywhere on the field. He excels both in the slot and on the outside and he absolutely burst onto the scene last season playing alongside Mike Evans in Tampa Bay.

At just 24-years-old, Godwin is making a name for himself as one of the best all-around wide receivers in the NFL. His versatility to line up anywhere on the offense makes him lethal as his outstanding route-running and hands make him nearly impossible to stop. He always finds a way to get open.

Godwin is going to get paid though. He should get similar money to Golladay and Robinson. It is hard to gauge how much that will be, but the Bears wouldn’t be able to bring back Robinson and get Godwin.

He had his best season in 2019 in which he caught 86 passes for 1,333 yards and nine touchdowns. He struggled a bit in 2020 playing through multiple injuries, but still finished with 65 receptions for 840 yards and seven touchdowns. He additionally had to compete with Evans and Antonio Brown for targets.
