The Chicago Bears had high expectations for the 2020 season. Those expectations looked to be real as the Bears started the season 5-2 with a promising win over the eventual Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tom Brady.

After that, it all went downhill with the Bears sneaking into the playoffs at 8-8 and becoming first-round exits losing to a mightily-injured Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. The Bears had no answers on offense and their defense did all they could, as usual.

Now, the Bears are looking to 2021, but there are a few questions that will be answered this offseason as to what the Bears need to do. There are a lot of issues with this team and they are far from a shot at the Super Bowl. Answering some of these questions correctly though could take them there.

Who will be under center Week 1 for the Chicago Bears?

It really is a major question mark for who could be taking snaps for the Bears next season. Currently, the Bears only have Nick Foles under contract for the 2021 season. Bears’ fans would not like to see him be under center in 2021 unless we were blowing out a team.

The Bears have reportedly said they are going to be aggressive in the quarterback market this offseason. That remains to be seen how Ryan Pace is going to approach that though. He could quietly trade up for a player like Justin Fields or Zach Wilson if they fall. On the other hand, he could make a blockbuster trade for a quarterback like Carson Wentz or Derek Carr.

Or, Pace could disappoint us all by giving a quarterback like Andy Dalton a nice contract or trading for Jimmy Garoppolo. Regardless, it sounds like Foles won’t be the starter next season. The ideal scenario is the Bears get Wentz or Carr via trade and keep their first-round pick to address another position of need.
