Chicago Bears: 4 Dream scenarios in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft
By Joseph Herff
The Chicago Bears trade back and still land a top offensive tackle
The Bears have a great spot to be in right now. With how absolutely loaded the current offensive tackle class is, the Bears can easily trade back and still land a starting-caliber offensive tackle that can develop into a star. In doing so, the Bears could add more capital to bolster their depth they are lacking elsewhere.
Here are some great offensive tackle options if they do trade back from 20th overall:
- Alex Leatherwood, Alabama
- Dillon Radunz, North Dakota State
- Liam Eichenberg, Notre Dame
- Jalen Mayfield, Michigan
- Alijah Vera-Tucker, USC (OG/OT)
- Samuel Cosmi, Texas
And those are just some that they could grab in the first round. There are a multitude of other offensive tackles that can be found later such as Jackson Carman and Teven Jenkins.
I wouldn’t be opposed either if the Bears doubled-up on offensive tackle given how deep the class is with a trade back as well. Regardless, a trade back would be great given the Bears’ current cap situation. They definitely could use more draft capital to help fill out their roster with young guys.
