The Chicago Bears could also roll back with Mitch Trubisky in 2021

Many fans will grimace and roll their eyes when they think about the Chicago Bears bringing back Mitchell Trubisky.

The fact of the matter is that Mitch Trubisky has a winning record of 29-21 in games he has started for the Bears. Fans really started to see the offense rolling with Trubisky under center towards the end of last season, which ultimately landed Chicago in the playoffs.

Trubisky has been criticized throughout his entire career playing in the shadow of the quarterbacks drafted behind him in 2017. None of that matters when it comes to winning football games and this is a guy who knows the system and personnel around him. It’s safe to say that Nick Foles proved last season he wasn’t the right backup for Trubisky, which puts Ryan Pace in a difficult situation heading into 2021.

Foles holds a $10 million dead cap unless the front office finds a way to move him. Perhaps, Philadelphia would throw the Bears a 7th round draft pick for Foles just to reunite Eagles fans with a city legend.

Trubisky still has time to turn his career around set to turn 27-years-old this August. He wouldn’t demand a lot of money and as time goes on he might end up being the best option for the Bears. With the salary cap going down this offseason it’s still important for Chicago to draft a rookie and/or keep a reliable veteran option alongside Trubisky.
