Chicago Bears: Round 3, Pick No. 95 via KC

Richie Grant is being vastly underrated as a safety and should be a great safety at the next level. His hard work and dedication to the game made him the player he is today and he shows out every time he steps out on the field. After receiving only one Division 1 offer, he eventually became a three-year starter for the AAC powerhouses.

Grant consistently is a tackling machine racking up 108 tackles in his first year starting. He additionally had 72 tackles in only nine games this past season. He additionally had three interceptions. His 2020 season earned him a spot as a finalist for the Jim Thorpe award as well.

Grant is a fast safety that shows great aggression as well and loves to rise up to his competition. He showed this at the Senior Bowl as he greatly impressed NFL Scouts by his ability in both stopping the run and in pass coverage. Grant projects as a free safety at the next level.

With Sean Desai taking over as defensive coordinator, the Bears expect to run a lot of two-high safety sets in which the Bears need two deep free safeties. Grant would be the perfect safety to pair alongside Eddie Jackson not only for next season but for many seasons.
