The 2021 NFL season is nearly upon us. The Chicago Bears have plenty of unanswered questions. The Allen Robinson situation is one situation everyone wants to know about, while quarterback and offensive line, specifically the tackle positions, need to be addressed. Chicago Bears fans are chomping at the bit to know these things, yet despite two major trades that have taken place on paper, not much can be done yet officially.

The Matthew Stafford for Jared Goff trade will not be made official until the start of the new league year. The same for the Carson Wentz trade. The Chicago Bears seem to be the runner up to the Colts in the Wentz trade, but maybe it was a blessing that Ryan Pace did not overpay for the former second-round rounder as now reports are Russell Wilson would be open to play in Chicago should Seattle and he not find a way to come to an agreement on the future of the team.

Before Chicago Bears fans continue to grow impatient, let us take a look at the upcoming important dates and what it means for this team.

Chicago Bears use of the franchise or transition tag: February 23 to March 9

The Chicago Bears need to figure out what Allen Robinson’s future is going to look like with this team. Allen Robinson is set to be a free agent at the start of the new league year. However, the team could decide to use the franchise tag on him. The transition tag is not one that will be used on Robinson here because the Bears cannot afford to let the league set his market.

We are already in the thick of this part of the offseason schedule, but teams rarely announce which players will be getting a tag until closer to the March 9 date. The two sides will be negotiating and trying to reach an agreement before just slapping the tag on a player. The Bears and Robinson situation is no different. Maybe we find out more in the press conference held by Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy tomorrow.
