Chicago Bears legally tamper with free agents: March 15 to March 17

During this time, teams are allowed to contact and negotiate contracts with players who are scheduled to hit the open market as an unrestricted free agent. It will be interesting to see if the team locks any of their own free agents into a contract prior to this window.

Allen Robinson, Cordarelle Patterson and Cairo Santos are the big names to watch for, but others are important too. Will the team officially allow Mitch Trubisky to hit free agency? The answer is yes, but this still needs to be addressed, and could Trubisky sign quickly? Doubtful. I see Trubisky landing with a team similar to how Jameis Winston and Cam Newton signed later in the offseason last year.

Roy Robertson-Harris, Pat O’Donnell, Deon Bush, Germain Ifedi, Tashaun Gipson, Brent Urban, Mario Edwards and Jason Spriggs are all names to keep an eye on. The Chicago Bears are not likely to re-sign all of them, but a few of these names are likely to be back in 2021 and Santos is hopefully one of them.
