2. Darqueze Dennard

When Cordarelle Patterson returned a kick for a touchdown against the Chicago Bears with the Patriots, Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace wanted him. They wanted Jimmy Graham and Robert Quinn after seeing them in person and wanted Buster Skrine after playing the Jets as well.

One of the best games Dennard played last season was against Allen Robinson. If you recall he even turned a touchdown into a pick with a great athletic play. Not to say that Nagy and Pace are swayed easy but they like what they see in person and they have respect for Dennard after how he played.

The issue with Dennard is health. He has not been able to put together 16 games for the past three years. Still, his issues had him waiting to sign until after the draft last and signing for less than $1 million.

Dennard did not play much after the Bears met the Falcons in week 3, competing in just eight games. His value is not going to be high and the Bears could snag him for about $1 million, saving over $2 million to upgrade from Skrine. Health is an issue, but that is why Shelley is here. On the field, Dennard is a big upgrade.
