Outside of the long-shot possibility of trading for Deshaun Watson and the something less of a long-shot possibility of trading Russell Wilson, the remaining quarterback market for the Chicago Bears still has a lot of options who have a lot of questions about how good they are. Whether these two franchise quarterbacks are a realistic possibility or not, the Bears need a solid plan.

Ironically, putting Watson and Wilson aside, the smartest, safest and most logical move for them is to do what they did in 2017. That is to acquire a bridge quarterback, in this case, to replace Nick Foles and draft a first-round quarterback as well. The reason I am suggesting the Bears need to take Foles out of their quarterback room is if you paid attention to his behavior around Coach Nagy, it is pretty obvious he does not respect the Chicago Bears’ head coach.  I imagine the Eagles would be interested in him at the right price.

Getting back to the Bears’ plan to fill out their quarterback room, this plan should start with focusing on the best possible quarterback in the draft that the Chicago Bears have the best possible chance of drafting. That, clearly, is Mac Jones. Another irony is that just as the Alabama quarterback is emerging as one of their likely long-term options some Mac Jones fans with vast football experience are also making their positive opinions known about him.
