The Chicago Bears are in desperate need of a quarterback. Not just any quarterback. The franchise and fans have suffered for decades without having a top talent at the position. Now, they might have a legit chance at one of the top quarterbacks in the league — Russell Wilson.

Although Russell Wilson has not officially asked for a trade, he has come out and publicly announced that should the Seahawks be willing to trade him, he has four teams he would be willing to waive his no-trade clause for — Dallas, New Orleans, Las Vegas and Chicago.

This does not necessarily mean he will be moving on though. The Seahawks do not have any real reason to move on from the not-so-young superstar. However, reports are that the quarterback has had a falling out with how the team is being assembled and no one seems to be listening to what he has to say.

The Seahawks are without a first-round pick not only in 2021 but also in 2022. Two first-round picks will just be the starting point though for the Chicago Bears to make a trade for Wilson. Any other trade would likely include a defensive player or two, and possibly a third first-rounder. As far-fetched as that seems, many cryptic signs seem to be pointing in that direction.

The question is, are Chicago Bears fans just reading way too much into these things? Probably. However, what else do we have to hang onto? The hope that Mitch Trubisky is the franchise quarterback this team needed is out the window. Deshaun Watson never mentioned the Chicago Bears as a team that he wanted to waive his no-trade clause and play for. Let’s take a look at what has transpired recently and determine if the tea leaves or tarot cards are in the Bears’ favor.
