Every year fans want to sign the hottest name on the market. However, only one team will get that. In fact, it is much better to mine free agencies and find perfect scheme fits and role players than it is to be the team who made the biggest splash in free agency. For the Chicago Bears, it could be easy not to make a huge splash in free agency.

When looking at quarterback, their best options are to trade, or trade-up for one, not sign a free agent. Still, that means keeping cap space and options open, and the Bears are not strapped to spend right now.

They are going to go out and make moves to improve the team, just not the headline grabbers. This list may not wow you, but they are players who can be values and improve the team. Who are some of the best fits when digging beyond the highlight names?

10. Cedric Ogbeuhi, RT

As I said, the list is not going to wow you, but there could be something here. To start, Ogbeuhi was a former first-round pick. We have seen in recent years that Pace will take chances on cheap former first-round picks as he looks for shots at the upside.

Beyond that, he started 280 snaps at right tackle for the Seahawks last season. He has played both left and right side, and over the past 6 seasons has wound playing every year. He did live up to his draft status and should be anointed a starter, but there are reasons to like him.

Lastly, he does have connections to the coaching staff. He started at left tackle in 2017 when Bill Lazor was Offensive Coordinator of the Bengals. In 2019, he played left tackle and was even used as an eligible tight end with the Jaguars while John DeFilippo was the OC.

Both can tell you what you are getting, but the familiarity can make things easier, and bring a former first-round pick in at a low cost.
