Ryan Pace has signed a veteran before

Remember when Ryan Pace signed Mike Glennon? He made $18 million over his year with the Chicago Bears and started in week one. What did the Bears do in the NFL draft that year? Oh, they traded up for a quarterback.

So, when Ryan Pace says that he believes in Andy Dalton, we know we heard that about Glennon. Nobody is lying when they say Dalton will likely start week one, just like Mike Glennon did. Still, the reality is that when the Bears signed Mike Glennon he was signed for longer, and was making more per year than Andy Dalton will in 2021.

Therefore, nothing about Andy Dalton should have Bears fans thinking that they will not trade up for a quarterback. Even though, they will have to move up more than one spot, signing a veteran like Dalton almost makes them being aggressive for a quarterback more likely.
