The Chicago Bears are in dire need of a solution at the quarterback position. Since Ryan Pace has taken over as general manager of the Bears, the team has gone from the tail end of Jay Cutler’s career to Mike Glennon, to Mitch Trubisky, to Nick Foles, back to Trubisky and now to Andy Dalton.

This is exactly why fans have called for Pace’s head and are not happy that he remains in his current position. No one trusts that Ryan Pace will get the quarterback position right for 2021, and honestly, it is not looking good right now.

Andy Dalton was signed to a $10 million dollars contract with an additional $3 million in incentives once efforts to trade for Russell Wilson fell through. The Chicago Bears gave fans a consolation prize of Andy Dalton to try and fix things. Nothing personal about Dalton, but he does not move the needle. I do like Dalton over Nick Foles for 2021 as Dalton was one of three quarterbacks I wanted to see added last season.

Now, instead of signing Dalton in 2021 to a cheap deal (he only made $3 million last season as Dallas’ backup), the team is giving him an extra $7 million. The only good thing here is how the team addressed his cap hit (only $5.3 million this season), but that’s still $2.3 million more than what Dalton cost last year. Is Dalton truly going to be the answer for the Chicago Bears in 2021?

Well, Ryan Pace has made him believe this to be true.

In Andy Dalton’s first press conference as a Bears quarterback, he made it known that the Chicago Bears told him he is the starter. Here we go again.
