With the 208th overall pick, the Chicago Bears select Feleipe Franks

The Chicago Bears select Feleipe Franks (quarterback) Arkansas. The reason I waited so long to draft a quarterback was addressed earlier. Also, is Ryan Pace going to trade up for a big-name quarterback in the first round or wait until the last minute to draft another? Somewhere in between doesn’t seem like something Ryan Pace is willing to do.

There are many different routes Ryan Pace could go as much as I believe in drafting mid-early-round quarterbacks like Dak Prescott, Russell Wilson, and Joe Montana. I also believe in late-round guys like Tom Brady, Mark Rypien, and Kurt Warner. From what I have gathered, I believe Ryan Pace believes in the first round or late-round.

I know he hasn’t drafted any in the late rounds, but he has also only drafted one. Ryan Pace has been in connection with more late-round talents than early but did not pull the trigger because he seemed to want them later than they were drafted.

Pace has been in connection with Ben DiNucci, James Morgan, Jacobe Eason, Jake Fromm, and others. Why aren’t they Chicago Bears? He could have drafted them easily before a lot of these teams—draft value.

If Ryan Pace views a quarterback as a UDFA, then that’s where he wants him. Eason, Fromm, and Morgan all likely were much lower on Pace’s board than his competition. Insert Feleipe Franks. As much as I want to say, Sam Ehlinger, Shane Buechele, or Brady White, I believe Ryan Pace might have them much lower on his board than other general managers come draft day.

If Franks is drafted before the Chicago Bears select, I could see them not drafting a quarterback and bringing in some as UDFA’s. That is just where I am at for Ryan Pace and the Chicago Bears — all or nothing.

Franks has all of the traits that a team can want. Size, speed, arm strength. Franks is listed at 6’6″ and 234 pounds. He ran the 40-yard dash at about the same speed and faster than Mitch Trubisky and Deshaun Watson. The thing about Franks is, he’s not a dual-threat quarterback. He is a pocket passer than happens to be very athletic. Franks’s playstyle is a combination between Big Ben and Matthew Stafford.
