Chicago Bears Target: Feleipe Franks | Arkansas

After losing his job to Kyle Trask while at Florida back in 2019, Feleipe Franks transferred to Arkansas to show that he can still be a quarterback at the next level. Unfortunately, he didn’t gain the draft stock that Trask gained, but he showed a lot more traits than Trask did as a raw prospect.

Strengths:

Both Mond and Newman have the complete package, but Franks has it more. Franks stands at 6′ 6″ and can run a sub-4.6 40-yard dash. He additionally has great arm strength showing he can hit any throw essentially possible. He has good pocket awareness as he is good at avoiding pressure. Great at maneuvering the pocket and keeping his eyes downfield to deliver strikes.

Weaknesses:

Despite his incredible speed, Franks doesn’t like to scramble much. He very much so plays as a pocket passer wasting his athletic ability. His accuracy is spotty as well. Franks additionally is very inconsistent. He’s very slow at going through his progressions and tends to sit on a target for too long.

Chicago Bears’ Fit:

Once again, Franks can benefit from sitting behind Andy Dalton. He may not even be close to the same style of a quarterback as Dalton, but he can still benefit from learning the NFL speed behind Dalton and getting his issues like accuracy and moving through his progressions cleaned up. Franks will likely be a seventh-round pick.
