Wide Receiver is still a need for the Chicago Bears even if Allen Robinson stays

Allen Robinson is back officially! After the Bears scared him by bringing in Kenny Golladay, Robinson signed his franchise tag officially staying with the Bears. But, until the Bears make a long-term deal with him, wide receiver is still a concern especially given their depth.

Don’t get me wrong: Darnell Mooney is extremely talented and balled out as a rookie wide receiver. In a 2020 redraft of the NFL Draft, Mooney is a first-round pick. After those two though, the Bears don’t have much. The Bears have two boxers in Anthony Miller and Javon Wims who haven’t shown much either and Riley Ridley is in the doghouse for no reason. They need a complete turnover at wide receiver.

Draft:

  • Rashod Bateman, Minnesota
  • Terrace Marshall Jr., LSU
  • Rondale Moore, Purdue
  • Amon-Ra St. Brown, USC
  • Kadarius Toney, Florida

Free Agency:

  • Golden Tate, New York Giants
  • T.Y. Hilton, Indianapolis Colts
  • Demarcus Robinson, Kansas City Chiefs
  • Adam Humphries, Tennessee Titans
  • Willie Snead, Baltimore Ravens

I’d expect the Bears to bring in a free agent in the next wave of free agency. The Bears can take a discount on a veteran to add some more experience to their group and they can draft a wide receiver as well. If they trade Allen Robinson, I’d love Rashod Bateman 20th overall in the draft to replace him.
