Chicago Bears NFL Draft: Takeaways on Mac Jones at Alabama’s first pro day

Nick Saban gives some insight to the Chicago Bears on Mac Jones
As Nick Saban said after Jones’ Pro Day performance:
"“He’s smart; he’s going to know the offense inside and out; he makes quick decisions; he’s got great judgement; and he’s very accurate with the ball…”"
Since coach Saban spent a year working with Mac Jones as his quarterback, also given coach Saban’s success with producing NFL-caliber players, I am going to take his word on these claims.

Mac Jones might not be the “best” quarterback in this draft class, but he will be someone to keep an eye on. Obviously, there are a handful of presumably great quarterbacks in this draft, however, there’s something about the buzz around Mac Jones’ name that makes you stop and think for a minute.

With what he’s done and how he carries himself, I could see Mac Jones being a winner in the NFL. Does that mean he is the next Tom Brady, Drew Brees, or Peyton Manning? No, but what it does mean is that his attitude and the way he plays the game shows that he truly does obsess about being the best player that he can be, and it’s hard not to put some stock into someone that’s betting on themselves like that.
