The Chicago Bears could have signed Andy Dalton last season for 1/4th of the cost. Instead, the Bears traded a fourth-round pick for Nick Foles and are currently stuck with him. Only one season after trading for the Foles and the Bears are trying to get rid of him.

The Bears were not very shy with their faith in Foles either. Ryan Pace showed this by signing Andy Dalton. Pace paid him $10 Million and let arguably the better-valued quarterback in Mitch Trubisky, walk. The Buffalo Bills ended up signing Trubisky to a one-year deal worth $2.5 million dollars.

I was on the side of getting rid of Trubisky, but that was assuming that Ryan Pace would get an upgrade. I didn’t think their replacement would be a guy who couldn’t win in the worst division in football.

Not only does Andy Dalton have to learn a new playbook, but he also has to get accommodated to a whole new team — a whole new system, a whole new city, and for what? Just for the Bears to be in the same position next season. I don’t think there’s a soul who thinks Dalton will be on this team longer than a year.

It’s really getting old being a Bears fan. I’m tired of people sugarcoating this team. Year after year it’s a letdown and this season will be no different. The future of this team won’t change until the Bears get new ownership.
