Andy Dalton’s history of losing is not a good sign for the Chicago Bears
Andy Dalton has made the playoffs four times in his 10-year NFL career. 40% of the time isn’t bad but there was a common pattern in those playoff games. His team got bounced in the first round every single time. Not only that, but Dalton has thrown for one touchdown and six interceptions in those four playoff games.
The last time Andy Dalton lead his team to the playoffs was in 2014. Seven long seasons ago. Last year, Andy Dalton had the best chance he’s had since 2014 in making the playoffs. Dak went down with an injury and forced the Cowboys to turn Dalton’s way.

The NFC East was the worst division in football and it wasn’t very close. Dalton still couldn’t lead them to a playoff run. The Washington Football team won the division with a record of 7-9. All Dalton had to do was lead the Cowboys to an even record, but the team only managed to win six games.
Let me be clear, I’m not blaming all of it on Andy Dalton. The Cowboys had a disappointing defense, an inconsistent offensive line, and a bottom-tier coach. These are all tough factors but at the end of the day, Dalton couldn’t get it done. I’m not saying going 8-8 is easy, but the Bears make it seem very achievable.
*On another note, it’s fun to see Mike McCarthy actually have to coach now. He was carried by Aaron Rodgers his entire career and I think that is clearly being shown.
It’s a very frustrating time being a Bears fan. I think I speak for the city when I say the Bears need a completely new start. The city of Chicago deserves better than this. The Chicago Bears are supposed to be one of the most historic franchises in the NFL. Please tell me what you’ve seen in the last 10 years that has shown any of that. It’s been an embarrassment for far too long.
I also want to point out that I don’t have one ounce of hate towards Andy Dalton. Who wouldn’t accept that contract offer? It’s not Daltons fault we expected Wilson but overpaid for arguably a downgrade. Let’s hope he proves everyone wrong.
Something to think about:
I just wanted to point out the future of Chicago’s sports teams. The Cubs might be average again but they made history with the help of Theo Epstein. The White Sox are one of the best young teams in baseball. The Bulls got rid of their toxic management and are now establishing themselves as “The Bulls” again. The Blackhawks are one of the best teams in the NHL over the last 10 years.
The Bears continue to be average and disappointing. It all falls down to ownership. I think everyone knows that except the McCaskeys…
