The Chicago Bears have done the majority of their spending in free agency, and most attention will now shift to the NFL Draft. However, they do still have a hole at strong safety. Deon Bush is currently the starter, but we have learned in the past two years that the odds are more likely that a veteran is signed.

Last year, Tashaun Gipson did not sign with Chicago until after the draft and turned out fine. When looking at the safety market, there are still some names that the team could have interest in.

If the Chicago Bears are looking to make a move before the draft, these are the best five options at strong safety.

5. Kenny Vaccaro

After a successful career in New Orleans, Kenny Vaccaro moved onto the Tennessee Titans for three seasons. Now, the 30-year-old safety remains a free agent. Chicago would be a nice spot for him to extend his career.

As he has gotten older, teams have moved him closer and closer to the line of scrimmage. He is still a strong tackler but is a bit limited in his speed and change of direction. With a rangey-safety such as Eddie Jackson, Vaccaro can slide inside and do a lot of the heavy lifting, leaving Jackson to make plays.

The Bears do not need elite traits, just a veteran safety who is in the right spot, and Vacarro has clearly shown he can communicate and play that role.
