1. Bradley McDougald

The premise so far has been a better than advertised player reviving his career for a lower-than-market deal. The best option to check those boxes is Bradley McDougald. In the “Legion of Boom” he was assigned with being the guy after Kam Chancellor. Tough gig.

Still, he was a good safety and did his best defending tight ends, and being physical with them. He was not an issue in Seattle, but when the Seahawks saw a chance to turn him into Jamal Adams, they jumped right at it.

McDougald went from replacing Chancellor in Seattle to Adams in New York. With Greg Williams, Adam Gase, and the mess around him, he struggled before an injury ended his season. His value went from ascending strong safety in Seattle to trade, and a free agent off a bad season.

McDougald is 30 years old, and there is a chance that Seattle knew it was time. There is also a chance that on a one-year deal at a minimum salary McDougald becomes the best bang for your buck option at safety.
