The final prospect the Chicago Bears should trade up for is Patrick Surtain II

This makes back-to-back-to-back players from Alabama. There’s a reason why this team develops so many pros, and not just any pros, many great players have played with the Crimson Tide. As of last season, Alabama had the most players in the NFL with 56. The next closest school was Ohio St. with 50.

Patrick Surtain II is the son of former defensive back Patrick Surtain. As a secondary fan of the Miami Dolphins growing up, Surtain was always one of my favorite players. He played for Miami in seven of his 11 seasons. His best years were in 2002, 2003 and 2004. He caught six, seven and four interceptions in those years while making the Pro Bowl those years as well.

It appears that the apple does not fall from the tree. Patrick Surtain II was a dominant force for Alabama. Surtain II was a five-star recruit coming out of high school. He has started for the Crimson Tide the last three seasons while coming away with a total of four interceptions. Do not let that number scare you off though.

Surtain II has great size at 6’2″ and just over 200 pounds. Some are concerned with Surtain II’s top speed, but he ran a solid 4.42-second 40-yard draft. His vertical was 39 inches and he proved his strength by bench pressing 18 reps of 225 pounds.

If the Chicago Bears are able to land Surtain II, losing Kyle Long would quickly be forgotten. He and Jaylon Johnson would be one of the best, young corner duos in the NFL.
