QB. 83. Texas A&M. KellenMond. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 873
Chicago Bears: Round 3, Pick No. 83
Following the top five quarterbacks in this class, it has been a mess to see who the next best option in the class is. Recently though, Kellen Mond has emerged as the sixth-best quarterback in the class due to people getting into his tape more, seeing him at the Senior Bowl, and him impressing at his pro day.
Mond saw the field early on at Texas A&M as he appeared in 11 games as a freshman starting in eight of them. He didn’t look too great, but he got better each season as his completion percentage steadily went up from 51.5% to 63.3% in his senior season. He holds the Aggies’ all-time records in basically everything (touchdowns, passing yards, attempts, completions, and total offense).
Mond showed that he is coachable by improving every season while at Texas A&M. His physical traits are extremely enticing as well as he displays a powerful arm that makes throws effortlessly. He has underrated athleticism as well as he ran a 4.57 40-yard dash on his pro day. He has all the traits to be a great NFL quarterback and have a Dak Prescott-esque value in the third round of this draft.

Mond still needs work as his passing technique shows inconsistencies and isn’t perfect. That makes the Bears a great scenario for him. Quarterback coach John DeFilippo has gotten the most out of Carson Wentz and Nick Foles in his time in Philadelphia. Having Mond sit behind Dalton and learn the Bears’ offense and correct some of his issues could turn him into a great starter. He has an impressive ceiling. He’s reportedly in contact with the Bears as well.
