Chicago Bears Mock Draft: Multiple trades lead to a retooled offense

Chicago Bears: Round 6, Pick No. 221
Of course with my love for Illinois State and the need for safety, I have to select Christian Uphoff. Uphoff provides versatility with his size and speed at safety to play both strong and free safety. This will bode well for him in the NFL.
He has experience playing nickel as well and shined as the best player on the field for Illinois State in 2019 excelling in both zone and man coverage. He brought that to the Senior Bowl in which he earned top safety of the National Team. He can kick return as well.
This bodes well for the Bears as they draft now two kick returners to compete and replace Cordarrelle Patterson. Uphoff can sit behind Deon Bush or whoever they also bring in and Eddie Jackson and catch up to the speed of NFL football. He has the traits to develop into a great starting safety.
Chicago Bears: Round 6, Pick No. 228
A two-year starter at Stanford and son of former NFL offensive lineman Chris Dalman, Drew Dalman looks to follow in his father’s footsteps. Dalman has the versatility to play both guard and center who is extremely explosive off the snap. He best fits a zone offense in which he can get a running start due to him normally getting overpowered by bigger defensive linemen. He displays a high level of football IQ as well and operates smoothly when running on the field.
Dalman would provide nice depth to the Bears’ interior offensive line as he has the fluidity to play both guard and center. It’s unsure that he can develop into a great starter one day, but at the very least, he can be a reliable backup that fits the Bears’ zone scheme.
