Chicago Bears must follow this rule if drafting a quarterback

The Chicago Bears must draft a quarterback in the later rounds

I wrote another article on the Chicago Bears on how they basically should make sure Kellen Mond is on the roster. I did mention that Kyle Trask should have their attention as well. If they draft either quarterback in the second round (or higher), I do not believe the Chicago Bears should follow this example I am about to share.

If a team drafts a quarterback high, they need to get them the supporting cast to see if they are the future genuinely. If the Chicago Bears cannot make a move to grab either quarterback early, then they should follow this example — draft two quarterbacks. Yeah, that sounds pretty simple, but it’s not as easy as it sounds. They should not draft a quarterback with different skill sets.

That would set off the balance of the team. The Chicago Bears should, in my opinion, draft two quarterbacks that are more like Andy Dalton. The best way to see what a player is doing as far as advancing is to compare them to the starter.

Nobody is the same, but grabbing a Jamie Newman and a D’Eriq King (who returned to school, but just an example) to show off their skills with Andy Dalton is hard to gauge. Remember Mitch Trubisky competing against Nick Foles? That is not an easy evaluation. The skillsets are vastly different from each other.

The Chicago Bears should draft two quarterbacks late in day three that play and process much like Andy Dalton. That could be Shane Buechele, Peyton Ramsey, or Brady White. That would be the ideal way to see who truly has what it takes in the NFL. Now is the team is going to look at more of the mobile quarterbacks then pair them up.

Again, that would be less than ideal, but at least pair them up so you can see who is the better of the two for the future. Mobile quarterbacks could be players like Ian Book, Sam Ehlinger and Dustin Crum. Indeed, Jamie Newman, Felipe Franks, and Davis Mills could all be paired together, but they are likely to be drafted early on day three at very least at this point.

The Chicago Bears have been turning over every rock, it seems. While I don’t expect them to take anybody most people know, grabbing at least two quarterbacks would greatly benefit the training camp’s quarterback room. You never know when you find a diamond in the rough.
