Chicago Bears Draft: Offensive Tackle

Offensive tackle this year may be the deepest it has ever been in recent years in the 2021 NFL Draft. From top to bottom, this class has startable talent or at least players that show high-upside in the later rounds. There are offensive tackles in the third round and later that can start next season.

  1. Penei Sewell, Oregon — 6.9
  2. Rashawn Slater, Northwestern — 6.8
  3. Alijah Vera-Tucker, USC — 6.7
  4. Christian Darrisaw, Virginia Tech — 6.7
  5. Dillon Radunz, North Dakota State — 6.5
  6. Teven Jenkins, Oklahoma State — 6.5
  7. Samuel Cosmi, Texas — 6.5
  8. Liam Eichenberg, Notre Dame — 6.4
  9. Jalen Mayfield, Michigan — 6.3
  10. Spencer Brown, Northern Iowa — 6.2

Player to Highlight: Teven Jenkins, Oklahoma State

Just months ago, Teven Jenkins was projected to be a third-round draft pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. As analysts dive more into his film, he has been shooting up draft boards due to his abilities on the field and the reports of him as a person off the field. Jenkins is the perfect starting right tackle you want on your team because he plays with a mean, nasty attitude that is hard to find. He constantly bullies opponents in the run game and is no slouch in the passing game either.

Jenkins would be a great fit in Chicago. With the departure of Bobby Massie, Germain Ifedi is expected to be the starting right tackle at the moment. The Bears tried to pursue Trent Williams this offseason, so I expect the Bears to take an offensive tackle early in this draft. Jenkins would be a great long-term starter.
