Chicago Bears trade rumors: Anthony Miller would look great in a Saints uniform

Another team that could use an upgrade at wide receiver is the New Orleans Saints. The top target is obviously Michael Thomas, but behind him, the only viable option is Tre’Quan Smith. Honestly, Smith does not do anything for me. He saw 63% of the Saints’ offensive snaps in 2020 and only finished with 448 yards on 50 targets. Smith also had an 8.0% drop rate last season.

Bringing Anthony Miller into the mix could take some pressure off both Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara who catches plenty of balls out of the backfield. With Drew Brees out of the picture, Jameis Winston comes in to take over the starting spot. We know how loose Winston can be with the football as he loves to sling it all over the field. Anthony Miller’s playstyle would fit in nicely I think with a quarterback like Winston.

The salary cap might be a bit of an issue for the Saints, but with Anthony Miller only set to make $1.2M in base salary this year, I am sure the team can somehow make it work. Like the Chargers, the Saints also have an extra third-round compensatory pick that could allow them to be more flexible and trade one away.
