This article is actually a continuation of my previous article that published earlier this morning. While going through what I believe to be the only logical offseason plan by Ryan Pace, Matt Nagy and the Chicago Bears, I could not help myself by doing an impromptu mock draft that focuses on building the team around Andy Dalton as opposed to the Bears looking to land one of the top quarterbacks and building for the future.

To recap where I left off in the previous article, we can get a sense of the direction of the team and players who are likely to be cut based on the draft picks the team makes at the end of the month. However, I should point out not all picks will be direct replacements.

There are about ten players that are not going anywhere due to their contracts. Those players are Khalil Mack, Robert Quinn, Eddie Goldman, Cody Whitehair, Eddie Jackson, Tarik Cohen, Angelo Blackson, Mario Edwards, Jr, and Danny Trevathan. Other players that don’t seem to be going anywhere unless it was a trade include Nick Foles, Andy Dalton, and Cario Santos.

Understanding the cap ramifications is essential because by cutting those players outright, the Chicago Bears would lose more cap space. To figure out who and what the Chicago Bears are doing in the draft, a person needs to understand the moves the team can make.

Now, onto the mock draft.
