Chicago Bears: Round 2, Pick No. 52

Eichenberg in the second round would be a perfect pick for the Bears. After taking a shot at a Day 2 quarterback early, finding a starting-caliber tackle in this round is a vital next step in this mock draft.

A lot of Bears fans clamor for Notre Dame offensive linemen after seeing the success of players such as Alex Bars and Sam Mustipher, so Eichenberg would be in good company in Chicago.

Eichenberg was a three-year starter for the Fighting Irish who saw his time there as a left tackle but could make the switch to right tackle for the Bears. His strength lies in run blocking versus pass protection. That being said, he has fluid hips and strikes with a lot of power. Juan Castillo could mold him into a really solid piece of this Bears’ offensive line.
