The Chicago Bears move back five spots but net a fourth-round pick

In this second scenario, the Bears make a deal with the team taking home this year’s biggest prize in Trevor Lawrence, the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jacksonville already boasts a couple of first-round picks, but if they wanted to move up and select a player they covet without risking seeing him taken, the Bears are a great trade partner.

Jaguars’ pick at No. 20: CB Jaycee Horn, South Carolina

Bears’ pick at No. 25: OT Teven Jenkins, Oklahoma State

The Jaguars take their shot at finally replacing All-Pro Jalen Ramsey, whom they traded to the Los Angeles Rams, by going with South Carolina cornerback Jaycee Horn. Jacksonville gets a guy who stood out in a big way at his pro day and locked himself into a mid-first-round position.

At pick No. 25, the Bears would select Oklahoma State offensive tackle Teven Jenkins, whom they maybe would have taken at pick No. 20 anyways. But, this way, they also get a fourth-round pick in return. That fourth-rounder will turn out to be very valuable, as the team doesn’t currently own a pick in that round. Now, they have the first pick in the fourth round.

Jenkins is a plug-and-play tackle whom the Bears would be able to put on either side. It just depends on whether they want to move Charles Leno to the right side or try to move on from him altogether.
