Chicago Bears Draft: Round 2, Pick No. 52

North Carolina is putting a plethora of talented skill position players to the NFL Draft this season. Dyami Brown was one of their best last season being the go-to target for 2022 prospect Sam Howell. Brown is ranked ninth among wide receivers on my NFL Draft Big Board.

Brown has seen the field every year he’s been at North Carolina starting six games his freshman year. Once he got a solid quarterback in Howell, his game went to the next level. In 2019, he caught 51 receptions for 1,034 yards (20.3 yards per reception) and 12 touchdowns in 13 starts. In 2020, he caught 55 receptions for 1,099 yards (20.0 yards per reception) and eight touchdowns in 11 starts.

Brown has solid size and speed as he just stands over 6′ and he posted a 4.44 40 yard dash. He is best used as a deep-ball specialist that can burn opposing cornerbacks. He was completely held back by his offensive scheme that didn’t require him to run many routes, so he will need some work on his route tree at the next level, but Brown can create solid separation on the routes he does run.

Brown would add another home-run threat to this Bears offense making it one of the most dynamic offenses in football. He could either start in the slot early on or on the outside moving Darnell Mooney to the slot. With explosive playmakers in Brown, Mooney, and Tarik Cohen, the Bears’ offense could actually strike fear into opposing defenses for once.
