Chicago Bears: Round 3, Pick No. 83

We’ve discussed how some rookie quarterbacks may be taken earlier than expected. This could still be the case, but as of right now, many draft boards have Kellen Mond falling to the third round, so it would foolish for the Bears to not snatch him up.

Mond’s mechanics certainly need some work, but there’s no denying his athleticism and physical prowess. It’s hard not to get excited with a throw like this too.

Mond and the Bears seem to also have a connection, as the Bears have been in contact with the Texas A&M quarterback. Here’s what Mond had to say when asked about speaking to the team.

Mond’s upside and potential make him a great pick at 83, as he could slowly transition in this Bears’ offense and become a long-term starter with some coaching under Bear’s quarterback coach John DeFilippo.
