2. Accuracy In the Middle of the Field

According to PFF, Mac Jones lives in the intermediate area of the field. His heat map looks like a funnel to the hashes, and the deeper he goes, the further he avoids the sidelines.

You can see a similar variety from the heat maps of Nick Foles and Mitch Trubisky. Trubisky lived in the short middle, while Foles has a gap bulging out where he only threw 15-20 yards over the middle of the field.

To be fair, Justin Fields threw over the middle of the field often while Zach Wilson and Trey Lance were much more prone to testing the sidelines down the field.

Beyond that is the accuracy. Below is the adjusted accuracy rate according to PFF as well as their average depth of target.

Justin Fields 80.8%, 10.4 yards

Mac Jones 84.2%, 8.8 yards

Trey Lance, 72%, 11.5 yards

Trevor Lawrence, 77.3% 9 yards

Zach Wilson 80.3%, 10.9 yards

Jones does not push the ball down the field as much as others but has the highest adjusted completion rate of the group. He lives in the areas where Matt Nagy wants him to.
