Grinding the Mocks is a great resource that takes every mock draft into account, creating a database of the most mocked players to each team. In the last edition, we looked at who the most mocked player was to the Chicago Bears dating back to before free agency.

However, with a flurry of mock drafts coming in over the past month, this mock draft will focus on solely mock drafts submitted in March and April.

1. Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State

As we get closer and closer to the 2021 NFL draft, Teven Jenkins feels more and more like the slam dunk pick at 20. He is a right tackle and would immediately fill a big need for Chicago. Beyond that, you are getting an athletic tackle who plays with a mean streak.

We have written up a profile on Teven Jenkins and noted that he is the perfect replacement for Bobby Massie.

2.  Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida

This is a bit surprising as many would suggest that Toney could be in play for 20 and would be gone by the Bears’ second pick. However, Toney is a bit of a gadget player who does not have a full route tree. He could be a faller on draft day.

Still, if Matt Nagy can add a gadget-type slot receiver to upgrade from Anthony Miller in round two he is all over it. Just get the ball in Toney’s hands and watch him go.

3. Jamie Newman, QB, Wake Forest

We knew it would not be long until we saw a quarterback. Kyle Trask has been mocked to Chicago often, but now we see the Bears wait on Jamie Newman. Newman sat out last year with COVID concerns, and there is no telling how high his stock could have gone up had he played.

5. Jake Curhan, RT, California

Chicago Bears fans will not complain about the team going with another offensive tackle. Curhan is a four-year starter at Cal, who does not have the athletic upside, but has the experience and understanding to be a relied upon back up.

6. Thomas Graham, CB, Oregon

Graham is a bit undersized but has inside-outside versatility and a knack for finding the football. He could find himself competing with Kindle Vildor for serious snaps as a rookie.

6. Elerson Smith, EDGE, Northern Iowa

Even when the media does mocks they find a way to shuffle a small school athlete in for Ryan Pace. Elerson Smith tested like an elite athlete at his Pro day and showed elite agility as well as speed and burst. As a depth edge behind Robert Quinn and Khalil Mack, he could start to work his way up the NFL chain.

6. Dez Fitzpatrick, WR, Louisville

Adding Toney does not finish the Bears WR needs. Allen Robinson is a free agent next year and it is time to move on from Javon Wims and Riley Ridley as experiments. Fitzpatrick brings more size and speed than Ridley, providing a much higher floor.

7. Tyree Gillespie, S, Missouri

Gillespie may end up getting drafted higher than this after he had an excellent pro day. However, he has never played as fast as he tested, and his tape says a day three safety. Chicago would love his speed on special teams.
