There is no way the Chicago Bears cannot select a quarterback in this draft

At one point in the mock draft I wanted to take Kellen Mond, however, things did not align. I am not sold on Davis Mills in the second round and he was not available when I moved up in the third to take Brady Christensen. With Shane Buechele available here in the fith, it was between him and Feleipe Franks. Had Jamie Newman been available, he’d have been my guy here instead.

I have Buechele and Franks neck and neck within my rankings and within the same tier. Honestly, I don’t think you could go wrong with either one at this point as a developmental guy. Both bring more to the table than another year of Tyler Bray.

Although I think Frank has more upside than Buechele, I don’t see either being long-term solutions. I went with Buechele as I feel he has a better chance of developing into a true backup quarterback. He is not as athletic as Frank, but he is able to move around enough. Buechele also has nice touch and accuracy on short to intermediate throws. Who knows, maybe he shocks the league and develops into something more. For now, he’s just a side piece to keep in play.
