The Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles are two teams very familiar with each other over the past few seasons.
Whether we are talking former Bears appearing in Eagles jerseys, or former Eagles appearing in Bears jerseys, these two franchises have shared a few players. Not to mention, the infamous Wildcard game a few years ago will haunt Bears fans forever.
As the two teams head into the 2021 NFL Draft, they actually share one major commonality: neither are completely sure about their quarterback position.
Sure, the Eagles may be feeling a bit better about their situation as opposed to the Bears. After all, a second-year, dual-threat quarterback like Jalen Hurts presents a franchise with a lot more hope than a washed, pocket passing veteran like Andy Dalton.
Prior to the 2021 Draft, could the Chicago Bears strike a deal with the Eagles?
The Eagles are a mystery when it comes to the first round of this year’s draft. They moved back to pick No. 12 overall, where they will be far less likely to land a quarterback if they indeed wanted to give Hurts some competition. Instead, they’re likely looking at a different position.
Meanwhile, the Bears sit back at pick No. 20 and only the most powerful of prayers could have any hope in seeing a top quarterback fall to them so late.
News flash: it’s not happening. But, if the Bears wanted to make some kind of deal to try and move up and get closer to landing a quarterback, Philadelphia would be an intriguing trade partner.
Not only could the Bears strike a deal to move up for a quarterback, but Ryan Pace just might surprise us all and go a different route via trading with Philly. Either way, the Eagles present the Bears with some interesting trade possibilities.
