Chicago Bears Draft: Nick Foles, Quarterback

Nick Foles was brought in last offseason for a fourth-round pick to give Mitchell Trubisky some competition for the starting job. Foles eventually took the starting job during the Atlanta Falcons game leading a miraculous comeback throwing three touchdowns. Unfortunately, he crashed back down to earth throwing only 10 touchdowns to eight interceptions and losing his job to Trubisky.

Now, the Bears signed Andy Dalton to be their starter and are rumored to draft a quarterback making Foles an expensive almost pointless roster spot. There have been slight rumors of Nick Foles being traded to the Denver Broncos according to Benjamin Allbright due to the Broncos attempting to find a suitable backup to help Drew Lock.

Foles as a quarterback is who he is —  an inconsistent quarterback who has a plethora of experience and is extremely smart. He is a high-end backup who can win you games if he is called upon due to an injury or benching of bad quarterback play. He’s shown the highest of highs (winning a Super Bowl outdueling Tom Brady) and the lowest of lows (2015 St. Louis Rams season).

It’s hard to gauge what Foles would be traded for. He likely wouldn’t go for much. His contract was restructured a lot and the Bears aren’t paying him much and neither would the Broncos. Foles could maybe bring back a sixth-round pick or maybe the Bears send Foles and a sixth for a fifth.
