Charles Tillman left his mark on the Chicago Bears and the rest of the league

Player #3: Charles Tillman

If there is someone who I feel confident about finding their place in Canton one day, it’s definitely Charles Tillman. Tillman made his debut on the ballot this past season, he obviously didn’t make it in yet but I don’t think he will have to wait too long. He definitely deserves to get in before Julian Edelman.

Tillman was a very good corner for several years for the Chicago Bears and may even be the best CB in team history. Tillman always had a nose for the ball especially when it came to forcing fumbles.

The “Peanut Punch” became Tillman’s signature move as he was always a threat to force the ball out when making a tackle. In 2012, Tillman arguably had his best season with an incredible 10 forced fumbles. Tillman would make a Pro-Bowl and his lone First-Team All-Pro selection in 2012.

Similar to Matt Forte earlier, Tillman may be lacking in the accolades department but again, his impact can’t be overstated. The man has 44 forced fumbles which are tied for 6th all-time, to go along with his 38 career interceptions.

To top this off, Tillman was the winner of the Walter Payton Man of the Year award in 2013 which is one of the most honored awards to some players.
