Getting the Justin Fields to the Chicago Bears dream a reality seems like an impossible task. With so many other quarterback-needy teams, it just seems unlikely that the Ohio State quarterback will wear the orange and navy next season.

This is what many have thought. The dream may be alive again, however, after this tweet was sent from Ian Rapoport.

After making trades with the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles, it seems the Dolphins are not yet done with making moves in the 2021 NFL Draft. If Miami is indeed fielding calls for the sixth-overall pick, the Bears should make a call, but only if this particular situation occurs.

The Chicago Bears need Justin Fields to fall out of the top five

Justin Fields is arguably the QB2 or QB3 of this draft class, depending on who you ask. Many people have downplayed his draft capital based on speculation and his school of choice, as Ohio State quarterbacks have tended to never work out.

Those reports are simply ridiculous. Fields is a phenomenal prospect who will very likely have a successful NFL career. The stigma of Ohio State quarterbacks will end with Fields- Ryan Day was able to get the most out of Fields’ potential.

Of course, it seems likely he’ll end up in San Francisco. That being said, there have been reports that the team is interested in Alabama’s Mac Jones, and more recently, North Dakota State’s Trey Lance.

If the Bears can remain patient until draft day and see if Fields truly falls past the top three, their chance to trade up for him is there. The Atlanta Falcons are unlikely to take a quarterback, and the Cincinnati Bengals have Joe Burrow returning.

The team could move here to acquire Lance or Jones, but I believe Fields is a step above both prospects. In this mock draft, Lance went to the 49ers and Jones ended up with the Denver Broncos.

Trading up 14 spots won’t be easy, but in this particular mock draft, the Bears manage to grab Fields at six while also addressing a lot of other positional needs. The Fields to the Bears dream is reignited in this latest mock from Pro Football Focus.
