The Chicago Bears must not reach for any of these quarterbacks

We all know that the Chicago Bears are in need of a quarterback. Andy Dalton is not the long-term solution. That said, he is going to be the guy in 2021 unless the Bears and Ryan Pace somehow move up in the first round to select one of the top-five quarterback prospects.

In my personal opinion, only Justin Fields is worth moving up into the top 10 for should he fall. This is assuming Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson go first and second overall. Trey Lance and Mac Jones are two guys that will not likely fall to 20 and could go within the top 10 as well. That said, I am hoping Ryan Pace does not look to go any higher than the teens for either Lance or Jones.

When it comes to the Chicago Bears, plenty of other positions should be the focus here in the first round. The offensive line is the one position most want to see taken if not a quarterback. I’m only looking to take Penei Sewell, Rashawn Slater or Christian Darrisaw with the 20th-overall pick. Darrisaw is my OT3, but he seems the most realistic and I’d be ecstatic if he somehow lands here.

Wide receiver is another key area that the Chicago Bears could look to in 2021. Ja’Marr Chase seems to be the name everyone thinks will go first. He is the Bear Goggles On consensus top wide receiver despite not being mine. Landing him, DeVonta Smith or Jaylen Waddle in the first round would be fantastic. Kyle Pitts too would be great as he is the top prospect in this draft outside of Trevor Lawrence.

The Chicago Bears could go in many directions in the 2021 NFL Draft

The chances of any of those names being around when the Bears pick at 20th overall is very slim. The more likely options would be Rashod Bateman, WR (the guy I’d be happy with), Teven Jenkins (I’d prefer they trade down for him) or one of the cornerbacks (the other position of need). What the Chicago Bears cannot do though, is use the 20th-overall pick on a quarterback who is not worth a first-round pick.
