Chicago Bears would be making a mistake taking Davis Mills in the first round
For anyone who is down on Mac Jones because of his lack of athleticism, then don’t speak highly of Davis Mills. Mills is just as, if not even more, unathletic than Jones. What Mills does well is get the ball out of his hand. His quick release would fit best in an offense that uses plenty of timing routes. Honestly, this could be exactly what Matt Nagy is looking for within his offense.
That said, Mills struggles with his deep ball more often than not. This could be due to him trying to release the football as quickly as possible. He is fine in the short to intermediate routes, but then we are right back where we started with Mitch Trubisky.
Loved this rep from Davis Mills. Saw the safety stepping up just before snap, checked if he was being replaced from other side post-snap, then showed great anticipation to throw before WR cleared coverage. WR dropped a TD.

Mills is rising up plenty of analysts’ draft boards, but that does not make him a first-round option. Kellen Mond would easily be my choice over Mills and just like I previously stated, I don’t want either early. Mills is a third-round pick at best.
