The Chicago Bears send a future first-round pick to move up twice in 2021
Here we go. It happened and I am not happy about it. That said, I can easily see Ryan Pace making a move like this. I don’t hate the trade at all, but in this simulator, Mac Jones fell and Ryan Pace moved up to 10th overall to select him.
If it were me, I would have taken Penei Sewell who shockingly fell. Sewell is the top-ranked offensive tackle in this draft (at least for most). That said, I wouldn’t have traded up to 10 for Sewell because I find that Rashawn Slater and Christian Darrisaw could easily match Sewell’s success during their NFL careers. Holding to see if one fell to 20 or moving up only a few spots would cost a lot less draft capital. However, moving up into the fourth round could be worth it.
With the 138th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select:
- Cornell Powell, WR – Clemson
- Amari Rodgers, WR – Clemson
- Aaron Banks, OG – Notre Dame
- Robert Hainsey, OT – Notre Dame
- Brady Christensen, OT – BYU
- Jamin Davis, LB – Kentucky
- Jamar Johnson, S – Indiana
All of these names are worth the pick depending on how the rest of the draft goes prior to this pick. Should Ryan Pace go with an offensive lineman in the second or third round, then wide receiver is the most likely outcome. That said, Ryan Pace loves his athletes and that could lead to Jamin Davis or Jamar Johnson.
