4. Amon-Ra St. Brown, USC

Amon-Ra St. Brown once was regarded as one of the best wide receivers In this class. Now, he is being discussed in the third round in some mocks. If the Chicago bears could snag him in round three they would be saying goodbye to Anthony Miller very quickly.

The issue with St. Brown is that he did not have a strong Pro Day showing and has questions to answer after a poor 40-yard dash.

When you see a lot of the other numbers you can excuse the deep speed, but he does not have great size either. Beyond that, his 2020 was not nearly as good as his 2019 tape. A lot of people can say that and a COVID-filled year can be thrown out by many.

However, one of the biggest notes is that in 2020 he played a career-high in snaps on the outside. He played 28% of his snaps in the slot. In 2019 he played 89% of his snaps in the slot and played 56% in 2018.

His two best seasons of production came from the slot. Amon-Ra St. Brown does not have the straight-line speed, or size for the NFL but can get open in the short areas, and work in a Jarvis Landy-type role. In round three he would be a great fit to step into Anthony Millers’ job.
