Round 5: Brenden Jamies, Tommy Doyle, Alaric Jackson, Landon Young, Cole Van Lanen

The Chicago Bears have five picks on day three and things begin to turn into a crapshoot. So, all of these day three picks will be grouped together.

Brenden Jamies has the feet you need to start right away. He played left tackle at Nebraska. His length may push him to guard long-term, but he has held down left tackle and the versatility will be key for him getting drafted. His quickness makes him a zone fit, and as a depth lineman on day three, he is exactly what you need.

Tommy Doyle is a left tackle prospect from Miami Ohio. He is a towering tackle who has the length and size that you need and can move. He is raw and can lunge often, losing his power and he struggles to make the most of his length. However, on day three you swing on his size and upside.

Alaric Jackson is an Iowa lineman which gives him a bonus already. He manned the left side while Tristan Wirfs played right tackle. Jackson has the tools and experience in a pro-blocking scheme, but his issue comes from consistency. He never put it together. Perhaps now that it is a full-time job, the best can be pulled out.

Landon Young is a three-year starter from Kentucky. He has played left tackle but may find himself in the NFL as a versatile lineman who can play multiple spots. He struggles against speed but has the hand usage to fight with anyone.

Cole Van Lanen is a player that we have written about and projected to a former depth lineman on the Chicago Bears. The left tackle from Wisconsin would not be a bad option in round six.
