Chicago Bears hybrid prospect

Most Chicago Bear fans know who Davis Mills is now. However, would Davis Mills even be thought of without some of the players on this list? Mills had some underrated blocking and receiving talent. Something I am sure Andrew Luck wishes he had with the Colts.

There would not be a Mills without a Simi Fehoko. Do you want a better physical comparison to Cordarrelle Patterson? Simi Fehoko is the guy. Fehoko, created in Madden 21 (as a created player), makes the best running back. Not a Madden player? No worries. Did you know that Patterson was a physical freak that didn’t always weigh 230 pounds? When he came out of college, he was listed at 216 pounds. Why does this matter?

Simi Fehoko’s pro day shatters what Patterson did during his combine. Mostly because he is 6’3″, weighing in at 222 pounds while running a 4.37 40-yard dash. That extra weight stopped him from achieving his 40-inch vertical leap. Fehoko reached 34.5 inches. A sub-7-second three-cone and a 4.21 short shuttle just put him above what Patterson was.

Too bad he still won’t get drafted high. Or maybe that is the Chicago Bears’ luck. Fehoko had 566 yards his sophomore year in nine games and backed that up with 574 in six games his junior year. The season in 2020 was cut short due to COVID-19 in Stanford, but Fehoko’s pending health was well on his way to a 1,200 yard career year. The downside to Fehoko is he still needs to work on his route running.

If you are looking for a fast contested catch guy, you found your man. Fehoko plays like he is 6’6 and 280 pounds. He forgets that he is athletically gifted. While his route running is a bit off, he knows zone coverage very well.

Having intellect is not surprising when we discuss a player from Stanford. Knowing where and when to go is another one of Fehoko’s talents. If your quarterback is stuck running for his life, it won’t be long before he finds a wide-open Fehoko somewhere on the field.
